Angelina's on the Bay

ANGELINA'S BY THE BAY
399 ELLIS STREET
Staten Island, NY
718- 227-2900

Worth the drive and truly off the beaten path, practically  a dirt road but then again its not Manhattan, so an almost dirt road is not bad,, As you approach the place you realize its in a home like setting, so it does feel as if you are going into someone's home for a wonderful Italian dinner.
You can sit either downstairs in the bar area in beautiful round booths or another room they have on that level with a view of the bay, or for a bit quieter dinner, go upstairs with the same beautiful views . Either way is perfect, as you can go downstairs after dinner for drinks at the bar, and while upstairs you can still hear the music but its softer..
In nice weather you can dine outdoors on the veranda or sit upstairs on sofas and have drinks and watch the world go by. Where else can you play Bocce Ball at midnight?? That's right they have a Bocce Ball court on their property so its another fun thing to do..
The food is excellent and large portions, the fish was outstanding, as was all the other choices. The wine list was excellent too. The service was warm and friendly, we loved our waiter.
This is another hidden gem of NYC and feels like an adventure. The owner is wonderful and comes around,

and if you should be from Sicily its even more fun to talk about it with her..
We will return, Ciao for now...

All About Piano's

BIG WRENCH
  piano care
177 Smith Street
Brooklyn, NY

718-599-9434

www.bigwrench.com

This just might be the smallest piano shop in all of NYC, but it has the biggest finds. Brian Whiton, who is a registered piano technician, knows all there is an more about pianos, how to rebuild a piano, repair a piano and this is not just in the guts of the piano, its also the finish as well.

I wasn't sure if I was going to buy a new piano or look for a restored one. I have visited this tiny shop many times, and always was impressed with Brian and his knowledge. Finally on one visit I saw the exact piano I had envisioned for our home. It met all the qualifications. It actually looks brand new, show room quality, but its really a restored piano...

Brian also does  tuning and all problems related to pianos. It was a very easy transaction to work with Brian on the purchase of our piano, it was delivered by professionals that deal primarily in delivering and moving pianos, which is an art by itself,

I highly recommend making BIG WRENCH your first and last stop on your hunt for " all things piano."

Now we have our beautiful piano and can have fun parties in our home,,,,,

DALLAS BBQ
assorted locations in NYC

I happen to love the Broadway location up in Harlem bordering Washington Heights, its very diverse, lots of fun lively people and interesting conversations happen. The food is great from fried chicken to broiled chicken made the way you request, to ribs and amazing sauce, even fish is on the menu. Don't even ask about the fantastic drinks, the frozen margaretta is the BEST I have ever had.... You can dine outside in good weather, of always inside or in the atrium room. There is music on occasion for  a holiday...The prices are very, very reasonable and portion size is huge..  Its a fun time for all, and always free mini desserts...  Don;t skip this spot, its great for families, couples or even alone,,

Totally amazing 24/7 diner which is not so much a diner, its just a delightful casual spot that feels very upscale, with candlelight, and bar scene, and excellent interesting menu.... Comfy seating and just a wonderful spot whether you go for brunch, lunch, dinner or late night spot. Great bar scene too..

Its just the kind of place that hits the spot when you have no clue where to go,.,,,
