Worth the drive and truly off the beaten path,
practically a dirt road but then again its not Manhattan, so an almost dirt
road is not bad,, As you approach the place you realize its in a home like
setting, so it does feel as if you are going into someone's home for a wonderful
Italian dinner.
You can sit either downstairs in the bar area
in beautiful round booths or another room they have on that level with a view of
the bay, or for a bit quieter dinner, go upstairs with the same beautiful views
. Either way is perfect, as you can go downstairs after dinner for drinks at the
bar, and while upstairs you can still hear the music but its
softer..
In nice weather you can dine outdoors on the
veranda or sit upstairs on sofas and have drinks and watch the world go by.
Where else can you play Bocce Ball at midnight?? That's right they have a Bocce
Ball court on their property so its another fun thing to do..
The food is excellent and large portions, the
fish was outstanding, as was all the other choices. The wine list was excellent
too. The service was warm and friendly, we loved our waiter.
This is another hidden gem of NYC and feels
like an adventure. The owner is wonderful and comes around,
and if you should be
from Sicily its even more fun to talk about it with her..
